Jaron, thanks for sharing. As a kid — about 50 years ago in southwest Iowa — I found tigers in the woods and in my grandparents’ cellar, and I kept them as pets. I’m not sure I’ve seen any in the wild since. I may not be looking in the right place, but I worry that they’ve disappeared with our changing climate and ag practices.
What a cool story Lynn! One can hope they’re still around the area. Often times they’re hard to find outside of cool rainy nights or damp places like cellars. Good thing is, tigers compared to other salamanders can be a little more resilient. If you do ever find one I’d love to see a picture!
